Luton isn't just one of the UK's largest towns, but also one of its most diverse. In all, over 140 different nationalities make up this vibrant, multicultural society, and a firm commitment to cultural integration has seen Luton become something of a model of amicable community relations.

Reassuringly, everyone in Luton benefits from all the facilities you'd expect in a town of this size. For instance, strong local healthcare services include not only dedicated local GPs and community nurses, but also the large, modern Luton and Dunstable Hospital, all of which consistently perform well in government league tables.

The community facilities are just as impressive. Nine libraries offer a vast range of books, magazines, information resources and IT services, with over 80 PCs delivering free internet access to the local community and a mobile library visiting more than 50 locations across the town. There are 12 community centres – providing everything from pre-school activities to martial arts and housing advice – four youth clubs, culture-based weekend schools, a thriving advice sector, four equalities groups, six area committees and much more.

As for shopping, you're spoilt for choice. Right at the heart of the town, the Arndale Shopping Centre has 130 stores, three integrated car parks with 2,300 spaces, The Arndale Playgroup and Crèche and the Luton Shopmobility scheme. The surrounding traditional shopping streets and Luton's famous markets perfectly complement the Centre, and act as yet another testament to the town's diversity.
